Here’s a pretty nice Xmas present I got, and it’s not even Christmas Eve! Matthias Matuschke of Bavarian radio station Bayern 3 announced DJ Schmolli as “Austrian of the year 2008″. He played several of my mashups over the past year, huge thanx to Matthias and also to Wolfgang Kerber!! So it’s almost Christmas Eve and you still don’t know what to give to your beloved ones? Here the solution, it’s a DJ Schmolli greatest hits double-cd everybody! Doing mashups for quite a few years I now decided to make a collection of my most well known tracks, from my very first mashup “What’s This Name For” originally made in 2000 (here the re-recorded version from 2006) to “Justice For Billie Jean”, probably my biggest success of 2008. You’ll get to hear the best of the “Schnipseljagd” Vol.1-7 compilations plus 3 tracks from “Falco Re:loaded”, “2 Songs Crashed” from “Gold” and the infamous “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” mix which hasn’t been available on any of my compilations. So earlier today Great Britain’s biggest morning show hostet by Chris Moyles played my The Kooks vs. Beastie Boys mashup, a track I like to call ‘Sabotaging The Kooks‘! I’ve been told that the show has 6 million listeners, NICE!! Funny thing is, they had to edit out the F-word and they did it in style haha
